Arosa Bärenland
This demanding route climbs from Lenzerheide towards the Parpaner Rothorn mountain, where iron ore was once mined long ago. You will also walk through Parc Ela, known for its abundant insect life. The descent leads through a lunar landscape and Swiss stone pine forests and past an idyllic little lake. Arosa, with all its tourist amenities, will already be in sight below.

Description

From Lenzerheide up to the ferruginous Parpaner Rothorn where ore was mined long ago – such as at Totälpli. Hardly any traces now remain on the descent. Further down is Arosa– with all its touristic amenities.

Between the Walser village of Medergen and the Latschüelfurgga, a rugged, seemingly insurmountable rock face rises up. But hikers do not need crampons or a rope to climb. You should only be free of vertigo. Like a snake, a red, spectacular wooden staircase makes its way through the rock.
