From Savognin with its three churches, the trail climbs past the Rudnal mountain pasture and through the forest up to Nassegl. You have a superb view across the other side of the valley and the Surses. The mountain scenery around the high valley inspired the famous painter Giovanni Segantini to create many pictures. At the end of the tour there is a fun trail descent back to the village.

Description

The start of the "Nassegl Bike" route is the parking lot of the Savognin cable cars. Already on the way through the village, mountain bikers follow in the footsteps of Giovanni Segantini: the route passes the art gallery Sala Segantini as well as the former residence of the world-famous painter, which is located directly on the cantonal road. Segantini lived in Savognin with his family from 1886 to 1894. Some of his best-known works were created here, including "The Two Mothers" and "The Ploughing". Afterwards, the route climbs to the alpine pasture Rudnal above Savognin. The route leads on a forest road to the highest point of the tour at Nassegl, at the foot of Piz Mitgel. The viewpoint offers an impressive view over the Savognin ski area. Optional detour: Just after Nassegl, a road leads towards Plang Begls, where there is a place to stop for refreshments. From Tussagn, a fast and exciting descent begins on single trails and partly on forest roads.
