Varied hike from Prättigau to the Bündner Rhine Valley.
Details
Description
The marked mountain trail first leads steeply up from Hinterberg to Furnerberg, where you walk below the Wannenspitz via the beautiful Scära towards Chadschlag. It is a bit rough downhill into the Valzeina valley. At Alp Laubenzug, you can stock up on fresh alpine cheese during the alpine season. The ascent to Stams demands some stamina again. The Mayens settlement Stams with the cozy mountain restaurant Stams on the ridge belongs to the municipality of Trimmis and connects the Rhine Valley with Prättigau.
With a view of the Calanda massif, it goes down to Obersays, a sun-drenched Walser village with a wonderful view over the entire Rhine Valley.
Hidden Gem
Use the postbus from Obersays for the descent.
Safety Note
Easy and well-marked hiking trails. Do not leave the marked route in poor visibility.
Equipment
High hiking boots recommended; some sections can be a bit "boggy" when wet or with livestock.
