Scenic ascent over Piz Nual with fantastic descent to Selva.
Details
Description
We have registered our tour the evening before at the tourist office and we arrive in time at the valley station of the nostalgic cable car Tgom. So we overcome the first 600 meters of altitude quite comfortably, and we enjoy the deep view of the whole valley. The ascent from the mountain station over the broad ridge and over the Piz Nual is a treat. After the Carvers dil Tgom we decide whether we manage the small descent of about 100 meters with or without skins. From here it goes out of a hollow in leisurely hairpin bends through hilly terrain to the ski depot. The ridge to the summit is airy and exposed. At the summit cross, a 360 degree panorama of the first quality awaits us!
The descent leads over the north-facing slope to Selva, down to the Rhine. In the lower part we have to look for the best way through the alder perennials a little. For the return climb to the train station in Chamut we expect about half an hour. The train takes us back to Sedrun.
Variant for the ascent: From Selva in a direct line via Stavel da Mut to the summit.
Departure option: From Carvers dil Tgom to Alp Nual and Rueras.
