Description
On one of the highest 18-hole golf courses in Europe, where caddies take their rounds in summer, cross-country skiers make their tracks in winter. After a comfortable start over an extensive, treeless flat section, a short steep descent towards Schafwald awaits. Then the trail leads again flat through the Seebachtobel. Afterwards, a longer ascent towards Prätschalp follows. The trail first passes close to the Langwieser viewpoint. Langwies with its famous viaduct, the Mattjisch Horn, and the side valleys Sapün and Fondei can be admired here. Shortly before Prätschalp, the highest point of the trail at almost 1970 meters is reached. Here, cross-country skiers enjoy a view over the Schanfigg valley with its quaint Walser houses. A break is therefore worthwhile before going down to the Lower Prätchsee. From the lake, it is less than two kilometers to the finish.
