Shortly after the start, the route leaves the settlement area and leads along the Hinterrhein through the open valley plain into Domleschg. The surrounding area is characterised by extensive cultural landscapes, agricultural areas and quiet sections of paths away from motorised traffic.

On the way, asphalt sections alternate with solid gravel paths, creating a smooth and easily rideable tour. Several wooden bridges over the Hinterrhein form scenic highlights and open up beautiful views of the course of the river and the surrounding mountains. A cultural accent is set by the Reformed Church of Sils in Domleschg, which is worth a short detour or stop.

The route is mostly flat to slightly undulating and is therefore also well suited for less experienced gravel bike riders. Thanks to the clear routing and the clear topography, the focus is on relaxed driving.
