Description

The hike begins at the school building in Versam. After a few steps, a hiking trail branches off to the right. It leads to a red bench with a magnificent view. From here, it is worth taking a detour to the right to the old quarry, a wooded hilltop with a magnificent view of the Versam ravine with the old and new bridge, the rocky road to Bonaduz and the Rhine gorge. Follow the same path back to the bench, where a steep path branches off. It joins the Islaplanggen forest path, which leads to the Islabord at the viewing platform without any incline. Although this is not as famous as the Flims platform, it also offers a great view of the gorge landscape. From the platform, we follow the road for a short distance towards Versam until a forest road soon branches off to the left. Follow this road through the wonderful deciduous forest back to Versam and the starting point. On the way, you will be rewarded with another beautiful view of the Rhine Gorge.

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are frequent in the mountains. If a rain front or similar is approaching during the hike, you should turn back in good time.

Take the train to Versam-Safien and the post bus to Versam village.

Or by post bus from Ilanz to Versam village.

Anreise Information

Take the A13 via Chur to the Bonaduz exit and drive towards Versam/Safiental in the village of Bonadug. Follow the narrow rocky road and through the Versamertobel to Versam village.

Parking

Start and finish Versam school: 3 minutes from the Versam-Grosshus post bus stop, few parking spaces available. Further parking spaces in the village.
