Description

Rhein-Reuss-Rhône trail comprises 13 stages, starts in Disentis, goes over the Oberalp and Furka passes and ends at the monastery in St. Maurice.  The route mainly serves pilgrims from southeastern Switzerland or South Tyrol, who prefer the cool Alps to the heat in the Po valley.

Those who want to continue pilgrimage from St. Maurice will choose the Via Francigena northwards to Lausanne for the destination Santiago de Compostela and then continue on the Jacob's ways. Toward Rome, one hikes from Martigny and over the Great St. Bernard southwards.
