Description

The start in Friggahüs begins leisurely on alpine roads and leads you to the Lumbreiner Bridge.

Now the alpine road becomes steeper and rougher. Then at Chrizbial you reach the horizontally laid hiking trail towards Alp Gren. The remoteness here is the great attraction of this section. The climb to Blausee must now be earned again as it is partly quite steep. But it is definitely worth it. Because what could be nicer than enjoying a lunch break at a mountain lake located in the middle of a barren rocky desert. Then it continues uphill over Piz Titschal. One could make a detour on the ridge to Piz Val Gronda (difficulty T4) (not on the route here). This is only recommended for sure-footed and head-for-heights hikers – even though the most difficult sections are secured with ropes.

From Piz Titschal the path leads only downhill via Vorderalp and Wasma back to Friggahüs. Always accompanied by the tinkling of cowbells.

Hidden Gem

  • Summit panorama
  • Blausee

There are only rare wells to refill your bottle along the way. There are no dining options. Therefore, please bring your own provisions.

Safety Note

The ascent to Piz Val Gronda requires a head for heights and sure-footedness.

In uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Equipment

Good hiking boots with a good tread, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket), possibly a change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, provisions, possibly hiking poles.
