Description
In Bivio, the small mountain village between the Julier Pass and Lake Marmorerasee, begins the idyllic winter hiking trail into Val Tgavretga. The start is at the southeastern edge of the village.
The path runs along the old Roman road, through a rock channel and then onto the sunny plain of Sualas. After the hamlet of Allago, the path turns south. Towards the historic Septimer Pass, it leads along the foot of the local mountain Roccabella. On the Mott’Eta hill (1944 m a.s.l.), the highest point of the route, you enjoy a beautiful view of idyllic Bivio, also called the "Pearl of the Julier." From there, the path descends to the hamlet of Motalla in Val Tgavretga, where it crosses the Eva dal Sett river over a small bridge. It then continues down over Tua back to the starting point.
Along the hiking route, there are several benches offering wonderful views of the village, Val Tgavretga, and the imposing Roccabella. The hike is perfect for nature lovers who want to enjoy the tranquility and the snowy winter landscape.
Which winter hiking trails are open can be seen in the new winter sports report.
