Description

The hike begins in the village center of Splügen. Splügen was awarded the coveted Wakker Prize by the Swiss Heritage Society in 1995. On the sunny side of the valley, you walk on the Roman road (also part of the «Via Spluga») towards Sufers. On the right edge of the path, you can see the impressive castle ruins of Splügen. Through the snowy fairy-tale forest it goes gently downhill to Sufers. The hike ends at the village fountain in Sufers. Enjoy the winter landscape and the view of the Sufnersee. Back to Splügen either by PostAuto or on foot the same way or around the Sufnersee.
There are catering options in Sufers and Splügen.

Information about the condition of the winter hiking trails in the Rheinwald can be found here.
