Rueun - Schnaus, official Trail 905

On the left dam path from Glenner, we reach the mouth into the Vorderrhein on the mountain side of the shore. The hiking trail then runs westward along the Vorderrhein to the railway crossing at the Rhine bridge in Ilanz. There, you cross the street alongside the railway tracks and arrive between Rest. Rheinkrone and the railway embankment onto the market square, which you cross to pass the Landi and cross the tracks at the railway crossing again, thus reaching the shore of the Vorderrhein once more. This hiking trail leads after the railway bridge onto the Polenweg, a natural road on which you now move for a longer distance through forest towards Disentis. At Plaun Grond, this trail divides into a summer and a winter path:

The summer trail continues along the Polenweg to the old wooden bridge, over which you head toward Rueun. Slightly ascending, you reach the village center and leave it again heading south. On a hiking path you then reach and pass through the village of Schnaus. On the only street through this village, you reach the hamlet of Strada, where a right field path under the railway and road leads back to the railway and pedestrian bridge over the Vorderrhein. From there, the same path as at the beginning leads back to the starting point Fontanivas.

The winter trail (> 10,587 m long / 51 m elevation) branches off to the right at Plaun Grond, crosses the Vorderrhein and shortly thereafter the main road. On the northern side of this road, a field path leads into the village of Schnaus, where the path re-joins the summer trail.
