Description
The route starts at the Flims valley station, from where you climb approximately 750 metres in altitude along the alpine road via Foppa to Punt Desch. From the Flims valley station, follow the village road for a few metres and turn left; this is where the ascent to Foppa begins. Passing historic buildings and farmsteads, you reach the outskirts of Flims. From here, the route leads upwards between alpine meadows and cow pastures, past the Foppa station. At the Foppa mountain hut, you can stop for refreshments if needed and enjoy the magnificent view over the Rhine Gorge. Afterwards, it’s a short climb up to Punt Desch.
Now the fun begins: First along the flowing berms and turns on the last section of the Segnes Trail, then seamlessly onto the legendary Upper Runca Trail. The route features undulations and dips for less experienced riders, or jumps for the experts, followed by flowing sections of bends. All too soon, you’ll roll out into the clearing at Runcahöhe. From here, the route continues along the Lower Runca Trail.
Enthusiastic bike beginners with initial trail experience cruise over simple obstacles like rollers – while experienced freeriders race at speed over more demanding jumps. The numerous rollers, berms, and jumps make the Runca flow trail a first-class experience for all mountain bikers. The riding surface and many structures provide a “flowy” trail with good grip even on wet terrain.
The route is suitable for beginners and advanced riders and is also good to ride with an e-bike. Safe riding on simple flow trails is a prerequisite.
