Runda Lai da Vons
After the rhythmic road to Sufnersee follows gravel to probably the most beautiful mountain pass village in Switzerland. From Splügen it gets steep, but without nasty ramps. At Lai da Vons, wide views reward you, including to Rheinwaldhorn. The descent to Andeer? Long, fast and quite bumpy.

Description

From Andeer (982 m above sea level), the route follows the road upwards along the valley. At the wild Rofflaschlucht, the valley narrows and lets you dive into nature. The road rises rhythmically and steadily, but not steeply. Along the Lai da Sera reservoir (1080 m above sea level) there is a first deep breath, before the road continues to rise to Sufnersee (1398 m above sea level), whose water shines turquoise. You turn left off the road onto the "Rheinwaldroute" no. 505, which leads you over the dam and then along the northern shore of the lake. Over the sharp gravel ascent you reach Panell (1652 m above sea level). This is followed by the descent through the Fugschtwald to Splügen, probably the most beautiful mountain pass village in Switzerland. Through the valley floor of the Rheinwald, it goes back to Sufers (1428 m above sea level), from where the route mercilessly climbs towards Lai da Vons (1994 m above sea level). The ascent is demanding, but you are spared from very nasty ramps. Above the tree line, the view back towards Rheinwaldhorn is worth it. Shortly after the picturesque mountain lake Lai da Vons, the highest point of this day tour (2050 m above sea level) is reached. A long, fast descent on gravel and asphalt leads you back to Andeer. Here it can be quite bumpy at times.
