Description
The hike starts at the Votlas parking lot in Samnaun Dorf and leads gently uphill through the Inner Forest. Through the snow-covered firs, views of the Samnaun valley appear repeatedly. From the forest hut Motta Saltuorn, continue to the viewpoint above Val Motnaida, where you have a view of Samnaun Dorf as well as Piz Ot and Piz Rots. The same way leads back to Samnaun Dorf. The path is also used as a sledding route; sleds can be rented in the sports shops.
Safety Note
The path is prepared after every snowfall. Please observe the reports in the condition report. The route was rated under favorable weather conditions; current snow and weather conditions must be checked before starting.
Caution: The entire path is also a sledding route.

Equipment
High and sturdy hiking boots or winter boots, warm clothing, sun protection, hiking poles, optionally: sled for the descent.

Continue by PostBus (from Scuol-Tarasp, or Martina, Cunfin) hourly to PostBus stop Samnaun Dorf Post
In Samnaun, hourly daytime service with the Samnaun bus
Travel Information
- From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains). Then on H27 towards Scuol and Martina to Vinadi. At the Vinadi junction, continue to Samnaun (approx. 1 hour from Vereina south portal)
- From the east: via the Inn valley road B180 via Landeck to Pfunds, Kajetansbrücke junction and via Spiss to Samnaun.
- From the south: via Reschenpass (Nauders) on B180 to Pfunds, Kajetansbrücke junction and via Spiss to Samnaun.
Please note: If you travel to Samnaun, you need a valid travel document (passport, ID), as you will pass customs at Martina or Spissermühle.
