Description

The demanding route leads from Flumserberg Tannenboden down to Unterterzen on Lake Walensee. It is aimed especially at mountain bikers of the “All Mountain” or “Enduro” categories as it is mainly downhill. The route start right beside the top station of the “SeeJet” gondola impresses not only with the magnificent view of the Churfirsten. The upcoming stone steps clearly show that good riding skills are really demanded on this route. Once the stone steps are mastered, a specially designed trail section for mountain bikers follows. Here, rollers and bermed corners provide great riding fun. At “Ahoren,” a large pasture, this first section joins the alpine path. From here, hikers and mountain bikers share the trail and mutual consideration is required. From now on, the path runs through challenging, partly steep terrain. Drop-offs and root passages repeatedly demand full attention. Cozy forest clearings and the sparkling Walensee ensure that necessary breaks can also be enjoyed. The view of “Amenigen” is particularly beautiful, where a wonderful viewpoint with a bench invites you to linger slightly off the route. After almost 800 meters of descent, the downhill ride becomes noticeably gentler. Through the picturesque meadows valley, one rides on a gravel road to “Plänti” and from there on a low-traffic asphalt road to Unterterzen station right on the shore of Lake Walensee. Two minutes from here is a beautiful free bathing beach.
