Details

Description

After a pleasant walk through Brigels, the path leads into the idyllic Val Frisal. First, the trail follows the murmuring brook, passes an alp and then climbs over a saddle into the high valley. There, the Val Frisal spreads out before you with its wide meadows and quiet seclusion.

After a short rest, the path first leads downhill before the ascent to the Bifertenhütte begins. Initially steep, then gentler over flower-rich alpine meadows, the hut slowly appears on the horizon. From the terrace, there is a wonderful view back into the Val Frisal.

Note: If you have enough energy left, the climb to Kistenstöckli is worthwhile (T4, chains, 250 m ascent, about 30 min). The view from up there is impressive.

Hidden Gem

A timely reservation of the huts is necessary for the tour, as the spaces are limited.

Safety Note

In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are common. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Equipment

For the long-distance hike the following is recommended: Hiking backpack with rain cover, good hiking or trekking shoes with a firm sole, weather-appropriate clothing in a multi-layer system including rain and sun protection, change of clothes, provisions and drinking water, telescopic poles, a first aid kit, pocket knife, headlamp, maps, hut sleeping bag as well as personal hygiene items.
