After starting at the Buffalora Pass, secured steps take you up to the south ridge of the Nomnom. You then pass over alpine meadows from Aion to reach the Auriglia gorge, which is made safe with ladders. A long, steep descent through the mountain forest to Santa Maria in Calanca follows after the self-catering hut on the Alp di Fora.

Description
Our highlight for the following stage of the Sentiero Alpino Calanca:
- Santa Maria in Calanca: The village located at 955 m above sea level overlooks the Misox and is dominated by a spectacular architectural complex, consisting of the medieval tower, the parish church already mentioned in 1219, and the hospice of the Capuchin monks.
