Show all 8 images
A marked snowshoe trail in the quiet part of Obersaxen. Behind the dreamy St. Martin, the route immediately ascends steeply to the alpine settlement "Wasma." Look forward to views of the mountain scenery and light powder snow. Ideal as a short route or for the whole family.
Details
Description
In the middle of the village St. Martin, you will already find the first pink signposts. Those starting from Friggahüs will also find the first signage near the post bus stop.
Behind the houses of St. Martin, the route ascends steeply uphill. It is good to make a less steep track here. Later, it goes along a forest road to Inder Wasma. Please be sure to observe the signposted wildlife sanctuary zone at the forest edge. Upon reaching Wasma, you can now walk horizontally to Wasma. Here, a lengthy break is worthwhile because the views of the Brigelserhörner are simply unforgettable.
The descent route is designed so that you can slide down fun slopes or walk down leisurely. Often, there is light powder snow in this area because the sun shines only flatly in winter. The wonderful panorama is always in view. Almost at the end of the route, you can walk straight down to Friggahüs to the post bus stop or cross back to St. Martin to your car.

Safety Note
This snowshoe route is marked in the terrain with pink posts but is not tracked. There are no steeper slopes that are avalanche-prone. However, in case of high avalanche danger, routes in unsecured terrain must generally be avoided.

For carefree enjoyment on longer routes, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe walking guides of Surselva.
