Description
The goal of this round route, which is hiked counterclockwise, is Cuolm Miez – a rewarding viewpoint. The trail starts on a forest path and later changes to a panoramic path offering wonderful views repeatedly. The round route first leads over a forest path and over winter hiking trail no. 247. This section is identical for ascent and descent. Then you go counterclockwise in a zigzag uphill. In a short time, you gain some altitude until the path reveals itself as a pleasantly ascending panoramic path. On this section you can enjoy the fresh winter air as well as the views into the Surselva. On reaching Cuolm Miez, you are rewarded with further views and may catch sight of a few chamois in the distance. The round route then leads back to Siat. The last section on the forest road is identical to the ascent.
Hidden Gem
Stop at Ustria Steila in Siat and enjoy the delicious Capuns.
The route can also be hiked in the opposite direction.
Safety Note
Ski and snowshoe routes in unsecured terrain require good knowledge in avalanche hazard assessment and route planning. Furthermore, a complete safety equipment must always be carried – regardless of the current avalanche danger.
We recommend the APP and website of WhiteRisk for preparation and planning of the route.
For carefree enjoyment, we recommend our mountain guides and snowshoe walking leaders of Surselva.
