Description
The journey begins from Soazza, a gem village of the Mesolcina valley, which has a well-preserved historical center. The mountain trail, well marked, unfolds above the village, one hundred meters north of the start of the alpine road. You climb steeply, immersed in the tranquility of the forest, until reaching Alp de Bec, at 1515 meters altitude. After crossing the bridge over the Ri-de-Buffalora, the path opens onto vast green pastures, following a simple and well-indicated route up to the Pass de Buffalora, at 2261 meters above sea level. Here, the view opens onto a wild and rugged Calanca. A twenty-minute descent, immersed in a breathtaking panorama, leads to Capanna Buffalora. The refuge is located among beautiful larch woods with rhododendrons and blueberries. To continue the walk towards the village of Rossa, you start the descent along the Buffalora path, which offers spectacular natural views. Then you continue descending through the Val de l'Oer on a well-marked and maintained mountain trail. Finally, you reach the parish church of San Bernardo, located in the heart of the picturesque village of Rossa.
