Details

Description

From Trun, you hike on the left side of the Rhine to Tavanasa. Here you cross the Vorderrhein over the old Rhine bridge. From Tavanasa you hike on the Polish path, which was built between 1940 and 1945 by interned Polish soldiers. Memorial plaques and a wayside shrine at the western end of the Plaun Grond recall the history through the fascinating river landscape.

Safety Note

In uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be attempted. Weather changes are common in the mountains. If a rain front or similar approaches during the hike, you should turn back in good time.

Equipment

Good hiking shoes with a good tread, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket/sun protection), change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, provisions, possibly hiking poles.
