Description
The starting point for this 5.9 km long trail is the info point of the Bad Ragaz station at the Giessenpark outdoor pool (503 m.a.s.l.M). Like the Giessenpark Trail, the Tamina Gorge Trail first runs along the Tamina through the romantic mixed forest and past a mighty beech avenue, to the village entrance of Bad Ragaz (514). In the village itself, it goes first over the Tamina and in the middle of picturesque alleys to the entrance to the Badtobel on the southern edge of the village. Flanked by imposing rock faces, the trail winds along the Tamina through partly dense forest, past numerous waterfalls and various types of vegetation, to the Old Bad Pfäfers (680), where the trail ends and immediately behind it is the entrance to the mystical Tamina Gorge. The Tamina Gorge Trail is especially recommended on hot days. Shady sections of the route and the cool stream air in the Tobel ensure a refreshing running experience.
