Description

This 16 km long route starts at Alp Quader. From there, a very good marked path leads up towards Rubi Sura to the Bifertenhütte. For a special experience, we recommend the very steep but easy path up to Kistenstöckli. At the end, you have to climb up, where the available fixed ropes provide sufficient safety. Kistenstöckli offers a breathtaking view of the Brigelser Hörner and the Bifertenstock. Looking towards the Limmern valley, you can see the beautiful Glarus mountains and the Mutsee with its impressive dam. To enjoy the beautiful landscape further, a detour towards Kistenpass can be made shortly before the Bifertenhütte, before returning to Alp Quader. This route is not very demanding and has many flat sections. With many options to individually adapt the route, this place is perfect for trail running. Definitely worth it!

Hidden Gem

A detour to the Bifertenhütte is worth it. For guests, there are drinks, homemade hot soup, bread, platters with alpine cheese, and platters with meat.

Safety Note

The route should only be undertaken in dry weather. If you notice that the weather worsens during the route, you should turn back in time.

Equipment

Trail running shoes with good tread and a grippy sole, weather-appropriate clothing, first aid kit, drinks, and provisions.

Public Transport

Get off at Tavanasa-Breil/Brigels train station. From there, take the PostBus line B461 up to Brigels to the Breil/Brigels Posta bus stop. Then continue uphill by chairlift to Crest Falla.

Travel Information

Via Chur A3/A13 via Flims on the main road to Tavanasa then turn left towards Breil/Brigels. From Breil/Brigels, continue driving uphill to Alp Quader.
