Over a beautifully laid path, the route takes us from Maloja to the watershed at the Lunghin Pass.
Details
Description
The route from Maloja to the lake, to the pass, and to Piz Lunghin is a rightly famous and frequently traveled hike, on well-marked paths in pleasant surroundings. The trail rises steeply to the lake, then becomes a bit flatter before the final ascent leads up to Lunghin Pass.
From the pass, experienced runners can reach the summit of Piz Lunghin. Those who want to extend the route can run down via the Septimer Pass to Casaccia.
Hidden Gem
From the lake onwards, you reach the European watershed in about 20 minutes, where it is decided whether the water flows towards the Mediterranean Sea, the North Sea, or the Black Sea.
Safety Note
The Piz Lunghin is somewhat exposed and only recommended for experienced mountain runners...
