The Transviamala leads partly on mule tracks, which were already used by the Romans, into the Schamsertal. The race has already been voted the most beautiful by the participants in Switzerland 6 times.

Description

The Transviamala running experience starts in Thusis and leads on the old road through the "lost hole" to Rongellen. After this first juicy climb, you leave the road and walk along the «Via Spluga» towards the Viamala gorge. This section promises stepped ascents, single trails along rock bands and breathtaking views into the gorge. The Viamala Gorge is crossed on the bridges known from many illustrations. The Via Spluga then leads down to the Rhine and over the Punt Suransun. From here it is a constant up and down like a cross country run, which brings you in intensive climbs up to Reischen. This section contains one of the most impressive experiences: After a steep climb in a dark forest, the wide and open Schamsertal suddenly opens up - the strains of the Viamala gorge are over! But not yet the steep climbs... After Reischen, the run climbs again and leads again on wonderful single trails above Zillis. On the classic Schamserlaufstrecke it then goes via Pignia to Andeer. The slight ascent to Clugin warns again of the last cliff. On the last kilometers everything is demanded in the climb on plan. Then it's time to let it run and look forward to the best cakes in the region!

Anreise Information

On the A13, take exit 22-Thusis-Süd and then drive towards Thusis Dorf. The parking lot Marktwiesenstrasse is about in the middle between the motorway exit and the village center. Plan your journey with the Google route planner.
