Details
Description
The Val Bregaglia Trail is a sporting contribution to connecting the Swiss and Italian parts of Bergell. In the year 960, Emperor Otto I assigned the upper part of the valley to the Bishopric of Chur and the lower part to the Bishopric of Como.
The circular route starts and ends in Chiavenna (but can also be started from any other point). Depending on the direction you run the circular route, you start the trail through the shaded slopes south of the valley floor. From Caccior it goes downhill again, now on the sunny side.
Hidden Gem
The route can be shortened at several points.
