Beautiful circular hike from Valé in the Valser Rhine Gorge. The path leads over the Ronastäg and a beautiful trail above the Wali to Leis.

Visit the beautiful St. Jakob Chapel and the Ganni Restaurant in Leis.

Steep and partly wet descent and ascent to and from the Ronastäg.

Directions
The starting point for this hike is the Old Zerfreila Trail in Valé, as far as you reach the Zerfreila Road. On the road, walk to the right until the Rotabärgtunnel. Along the impressive Zerfreila Gorge and through the old Zerfreila Tunnel, you will reach the "Ronastäg". Here you can expect a short, steep descent and ascent, followed by a beautiful section of forest. Shortly after, you pass an old glacier mill and follow the hiking trail to the hamlet of Leis, where you have several options to return to the village.

To Chur, by RhB to Ilanz and the last 20 km by post bus to Vals.
Travel Information
Exit to Chur South towards Reichenau, Flims-Laax and at Ilanz turn off towards Vals
Parking
Park your car in the parking lot of the Vals cable car. Cost CHF 5/day.
