Description

Experience untouched nature in the Tamina Valley.

In winter, it is peaceful up here. A cross-country ski trail is laid out on the valley floor; aside from that, there is a small road which in winter is not plowed, but prepared as a winter hiking route. From the starting point in Vättis, there are approximately 20 km of cross-country ski trails (Kunkels 10 km and Gaspus 7 km) as well as a 2 km long night trail.

When the snow melts at Tödi in spring, the meltwater embarks on an adventurous journey. For ten years, it flows underground, absorbing minerals and warming to 36.5 degrees Celsius, until it surfaces far away in the Tamina Gorge. From there, it reaches nearby Bad Ragaz via a pipeline, where it enhances the wellbeing of spa guests in the Tamina Thermal Baths.
