Description

Experience untouched nature in the Tamina Valley.

In winter, peace and quiet reigns up here. There is a cross-country ski trail on the valley floor; a small road runs away from it, which is not cleared in winter but is prepared as a winter hiking route. From the starting point in Vättis, there are a total of around 20 km of cross-country ski trails (Kunkels 10 km and Gaspus 7 km) as well as a 2 km long night trail.

When the snow disappears from the Tödi in spring, the meltwater embarks on an adventurous journey. For ten years, it flows through the ground, enriches itself with minerals and warms up to 36.5 degrees until it bubbles out of the ground far away in the Tamina Gorge. From there, a pipeline transports it to nearby Bad Ragaz, where it promotes the well-being of bathers in the Tamina thermal baths.
