Description

The day begins leisurely: from Meierhof, the second part of the Via Mundaun leads through quiet villages, via Affeier to Misanenga. Again and again, chapels, old stables and typical Walser houses invite you to marvel and stop.

After about an hour, it's time to say goodbye to civilization; Snow and nature are now taking on the main role again. Gradually the path climbs, Cuolm Sura gets closer step by step. Part of the route runs through the ski area, but the hustle and bustle remains in the distance.

If you want, you can take a break in the café/Atelier Bündner Rigi before continuing to the Sogn Carli chapel. It was probably built in the 17th century and stands in a clearing on the eastern slope of Piz Mundaun. The view into the distance is also impressive: it reaches far over the Surselva and as far as Chur, framed by the imposing mountain scenery of the Lumnezia.
