Description

We stroll from the valley station of the aerial cableway in a few bends through a lovely birch forest to the Muntatsch viewpoint. The children are already very excited about what awaits us at the Clavaniev stream and it is not far anymore. Just before we cross the stream, we see them: the many colorful and original water wheels! With much love, diligence, and patience, a local resident crafted an entire installation of water wheels over several years. The wheels turn and figures of various kinds move along: flag swingers, craftsmen, and some others. We take enough time to marvel and observe before we walk back to the valley station in a curve through the hamlet of Clavaniev.

Hidden Gem

This route can also be done in rainy weather.

Safety Note

Children must be supervised as the stream sometimes carries a lot of water

Directions

We hike from the valley station of the aerial cableway eastward past the Hotel Catrina Resort to Muntatsch. Here a path branches off to the right, leading into Val Clavaniev. The water wheels can be found right by the Clavaniev stream. On the way back, we cross the hamlet of Clavaniev heading south and before the main road we turn right. This way we reach the valley station again via a side road, passing by the Catrina Resort.
