Description
The cross-country skiing world elite line up here every year for Davos Nordic. However, the course is also popular with amateur athletes. The route leads from the Bünda area along the forest to Obersand and over the Flüelabach to the other side of the valley. Passing the Adventure Park Färich, a rope and bike park in the summer, the route then inclines. Key point of the course: the famous "Cologna-Stutz", named after Davos resident and the most successful Swiss cross-country skier of all time. Many athletes struggle on the 236-meter ascent of the route. At the small settlement Waldji, the highest and simultaneously turning point of the course is reached. Parallel to the ascent, the route descends for several hundred meters before crossing the Flüelabach again. Along the stream, speed can be pushed for about 1.5 kilometers before Obersand is reached again. The last kilometer is also mostly slightly downhill and leads back to the starting point of the round.
