Description

From Ilanz, the route follows the young Rhine via Schluein to Sagogn. In Sagogn, it goes down to the Rhine along the forest road. At the Valendas / Sagogn train station, you reach the lowest point of the route. Then you tackle the climb to Dutjen. The path leads through Valendas with the largest wooden fountain in Europe and many well-preserved noble houses from the 17th century. The ascent is on a lightly trafficked asphalt road. The hamlets Unterdutje and Oberdutje all still belong to Valendas. At the highest point Cuolm Sura, you are rewarded with a unique view of Val Lumnezia and the whole Graubünden highlands and the Rhine Gorge. Additionally, you will be rewarded with a view of a beautiful high moor, which lies between many small scattered mountain farms. A long descent over simple roads and an easy section of singletrail leads through Riein and Sevgein back to Ilanz.

The route is gradually being marked with the name "Signina Bike".

Do not start the route in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes are common in the mountains. If a rain front or similar arises during the tour, you should turn back in good time.
