Winter trail running: Samedan Sonnenhang
The highlight of this route is the permanent view over the Samedan valley floor towards Muottas Muragl and the Bernina massif.
Details
Description
From the Muntarütsch shooting range (with parking available), the route leads via Quadrellas – although on an asphalt road – with a beautiful view of the Bernina massif to the San Peter church above Samedan where the proper trails begin. A short descent to the base station of the Survih ski lift paves the way towards the Cristolais nature friends' hut on a specially milled winter hiking trail which cannot be used in summer as it would lead over a lush green meadow. From the Cristolais turnaround point, the trail runs parallel to the Marguns-Samedan valley descent back to the base station of the Survih ski lift, which in this direction marks the start of the steep ascent towards "Sur San Peter." Upon reaching the culmination point after overcoming 102 meters of elevation difference, the path gently descends back to the Muntarütsch shooting range.
