Starting from Zernez, the trail first runs across the snowy plains above the Inn at the eastern village exit. Shortly after the Chasuot farm, the valley narrows significantly and you enter the forest. The trail now runs directly along the Inn, with some small climbs and descents through the forest until you reach open terrain again before Susch.
