Three museums are united in Klosters:
The Nutlihüschi local history museum, the Rohrmühle and the Schröder Schmitte.
Description
Immerse yourself in the history and cultural heritage of our region.
The Nutlihüschi local history museum (a "Hüschi" is a small house in the Prättigau dialect) shows a vivid picture of history, customs and crafts from times long past. It was built in 1565 by Christian Nutli, used as a residence until the 19th century and later converted into a museum. Today it offers the opportunity to discover the traditional way of life and the construction of the Walser people. In 1996, the house was supplemented with a stable. In the wooden house, valuable furniture, tools and toys from the 16th – 18th centuries are on display. During a visit - the best thing to do is to book a guided tour* in the Walser dialect - you will make many an amazing discovery and marvel at the historical sustainability of the various materials.
The Rohrmühle, one of the estimated 20 mills in Klosters, could be preserved for future generations as the last witness of old machine culture.
During a visit to the Schröder Schmitte, you will experience the ancient art of blacksmithing.
These three museums form the Klosters Museum Trilogy. A visit is a must for those who love history and culture.
