Porous Limestone in Fursch

Along the way you will come across a perforated ochre-coloured rock that bears the name Rauwacke. It was formed during the Triassic period in a shallow tropical ocean. The older Verucano rock, located downstream, was formed on land, while the younger rock of the surrounding ridges was originally formed in a deeper ocean.
