Description

On the Sardona World Heritage Trail at Spitzmeilen, you come across a porous ochre-coloured rock from the Triassic period called Rauwacke. The rock originally contained gypsum along with dolomite and limestone. The pores were created when the gypsum was dissolved and washed out.
