In the 12th and 13th centuries, flocks of shepherds and cattle breeders emigrated from the upper Valais and settled parts of Graubünden. Around Medergen near Arosa, the Walsers, as they were called, left their animals on the pastures in the summer and built a collection of alpine and residential buildings that has been well preserved to this day.

The Chrüz playground in Flumserberg offers a classic tube slide, a spinning wheel, and a hammock swing with a view of the mountain landscape. Nearby are the Chrüz restaurant and the Floomzer toboggan run.

The Reformed Church in Igis, consecrated around 1100, impresses with a late Gothic ribbed vault from 1486 and a depiction of the Passion of Jesus from the 15th century. It is a significant historical building in the region.
