The "Casa Gronda" (Big House) was built in 1677 by Johann Anton Schmid von Grüneck. From the 14th to the 18th century, the Schmid von Grüneck (also Grünegg) were the most important noble family of the town of Ilanz.

The Chic fireplace is located above the Miraval restaurant (near S. Benedetg). It offers a wonderful panoramic view of the entire valley and into the Val Sumvitg. You are also within sight of the S. Benedetg chapel by Peter Zumthor.
