Mighty old manor houses from the 16th century form the village centre of Grüsch (600 m) and bear witness to the former "Herrennest" in Prättigau. They were built by the rich noble families of Salis, von Ott and Sprecher von Bernegg.

Lake Urdensee is situated on 2'249 m asl in a side valley of the middle Schanfigg between the municipalities of Arosa and Vaz/Obervaz, as well as the alp region Urder Augstberg.
