Event Surselva
2-Tages-Einsatz in der schönen Val Lumnezia - Pflege mit uns eine Lärchenweide
Description
daily
Together with local farmers Chantal and Rico, we are clearing bushes from an alpine larch pasture in the beautiful Val Lumnezia. We need reinforcements for this. Will you help with this two-day mission?
In a convivial atmosphere, we clear an ingrown willow above Surcasti. With our commitment, we are contributing to the promotion of biodiversity by enabling Chantal and Rico to use the area for grazing. This keeps the pasture open and species-rich – a valuable habitat for numerous plants and animals. At the same time, we gain exciting insights into the challenges of mountain agriculture and life in Surcasti.
The operation takes place from Friday to Saturday and thus lasts two days. Accommodation will be taken care of.
"Nature connects" is a participatory project with which the WWF promotes biodiversity in our cultural landscape. For nature, for agriculture, for society: Farmers work hand in hand with WWF volunteers: they plant hedges and orchards together, maintain meadows and pastures, install nesting boxes and fight neophytes.
Program
We meet at the bus stop 'Uors, vitg. Welcome by the head of operations and the farmers Chantal and Rico Derungs. Together we drive to the site, where Rico and Chantal explain the work to us. Together we get to work. When the weather is nice, we enjoy our well-deserved lunch together in the sun. There is a barbecue area nearby where we can have a barbecue.
Freshly strengthened, it's back to work. After completing the work, we get an insight into the organic farm of the Derungs family and can learn more about the history of Surcasti and the surrounding area on the village circular trail. After that, we call it a day.
The next morning we start the second day refreshed and continue with our care work. Before we go home, we enjoy lunch together and let the day come to an end.
