In a tennis club somewhere in the German provinces, the annual summer party is on the agenda. The general meeting, tightly chaired by Heribert, is all about the preparations - actually a mere formality. Until Melanie suggests organizing a second barbecue: out of consideration for her tennis partner Erol, the club's only Muslim member. The well-intentioned idea triggers unexpected unrest and leads to a turbulent exchange of blows in which atheists and believers, Germans and Turks, socialists and hardliners clash head-on, set after set. It soon becomes clear to everyone that there is much more at stake here than just the sausage.

Based on the major theatrical success of the same name, "Extrawurst" takes a humorous look at social prejudices and offers a hearty mix of intelligent social criticism and top entertainment.
