Cinema Tribuna: «Zugluft & Jarry Singla» in Ilanz

The German-Indian piano individualist Jarry Singla and the Zurich duo ZUGLUFT of violinist Andrea Kirchhofer and bass clarinetist Bruno Strüby are united by their enthusiasm for refined sound combinations and the examination of traditional elements from folk music of various origins.

While the influence of Indian music is clearly pronounced in Singlas' current work, elements of klezmer, experimental rock or tango can be seen in the compositions of Zugluft. Wandering the vastness and margins of jazz and folk music for years, the three musicians met in the spring of 2023 during a studio stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and decided to let their very independent sound universes meet in a collaboration.

Since then, the trio has played three concert series in Germany and Switzerland, performing at the Multiphonics Festival in Wuppertal's Sculpture Park in 2024 and at Moods Zurich in 2025.
