Event Engadin St. Moritz
Easter Monday Concert
Description
Programme
The Easter Monday concert at the Reformed village church of Samedan focuses on the rich sound of violin and organ. The young musicians Filippo Jakova (violin) and Lorenzo Distante (organ) present a programme shaped by the Baroque era.
It opens with two sonatas for violin and continuo by G. F. Händel in D major and C. P. E. Bach in C minor. This is followed by J. S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in E minor BWV 548 for solo organ. The concert closes with an arrangement of the Fourth Brandenburg Concerto in G major BWV 1049 for violin and organ.
Atmosphere
The historic village church provides an intimate acoustic setting for baroque chamber music and organ, offering a contemplative musical close to Easter Monday.
