A big celebration, but in the end no one goes home. Although tiredness and exhaustion have long been noticeable, a group of guests is unable to leave the room. An invisible border seems to enclose them.

Inspired by Luis Buñuel's surrealist film classic "The Strangling Angel", the production "Angel of Annihilation" tells of power and powerlessness in a present permeated by technology. At a time when people are increasingly living in the digital world, maintaining emotional relationships with avatars or AIs, technology is becoming a deceptive source of hope. Is this still progress, or the stranglehold of old utopias?

Together, Jonas Bernetta and his team are further developing their signature with Angel of Annihilation: With a live camera, digital avatars and a penetrating sound design, an intoxicating, multimedia journey between dream and reality unfolds, in which proximity and distance, present and abyss inexorably intertwine.
