One of the most rewarding destinations in the Flims mountains is the three-thousand-metre peak of Piz Segnas with its spectacular views. It lies in the middle of the Sardona Tectonic Arena, a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Take the FlemXpress to the Segnes hut, then hike across the impressive alluvial plain of Unterer Segnesboden and towards the south-west flank. From here, the Martinsloch can be seen beautifully and prominently, and will continue to accompany us. The ascent to the summit cairn is soon pathless, with T4 sections. The panoramic view is simply magnificent! A traverse to Piz Sardona is possible.
The descent initially follows the same route, then crosses to the almost even more impressive alluvial plain of Oberer Segnesboden. There are fossilized oysters here, and soon you can see the Segnes hut again, where the eventful hike comes to an end.

The ascent on the south-western flank requires surefootedness, a head for heights and a good level of fitness.
Additional costs are: Travel to and from Laax, hiking ticket for the mountain railroads.

Requirements: demanding, up to T4
Hiking time: 6 1/4 hours
Ascent/descent: 1270m
Number of participants: max. 5 people

The hiking guide and GeoGuide offers tips for walking in T4 terrain and information about the World Heritage Site.
