The Chroma Ensemble has been making music together regularly and in different line-ups for 25 years, from duos to quintets. It is under the direction of Arlette Meier-Hock. In addition to her work with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Arlette Meier-Hock is also an accredited newcomer to the Tonhalle Orchestra and the Zurich Opera. She works as concertmaster in the Zurich Orchestra Association as well as in other orchestras. Until 2013 she was 2nd concertmaster of the Camerata Zurich for many years. Since 2014 she has been a regular principal in the Camerata Switzerland. She pays special attention to playing the baroque violin, with which she has completed workshops and concerts with renowned baroque specialists. She is also active in chamber music in various ensembles. In the Chur concert she will play with Angelika Caspar, violin (members of the Camerata Zürich), Grégoire Babey, viola and Anja Finsterwald Friedeberg, cello. The organ part will be played by Pieder Jörg. He is a part-time organist at the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in his hometown of Domat/Ems. In addition to his main job as an engineer in an international company, he continued his education on the organ with Felix Gubser (Zurich). He is particularly interested in organ music of the Romantic and early modern periods, especially with the aim of making the utility music of that time tangible again in a liturgical setting. Other focal points are the cooperation with choirs, as well as the promotion and preservation of local church music traditions.
