sConfini: The song of the trees

WALK AMONG SOUNDS, POETRY AND TASTES

Can trees sing? No, they cannot sing. However, they are living beings, and as such they possess intense vital activity that manifests itself, for example, through electrical currents. Using a device connected to electrodes, it is possible to detect the electricity that plants produce during photosynthesis. The next step is to transform that energy into sounds using an app installed on a mobile phone. And so the trees sing!

The walk through the plant world, scheduled to take place in Brusio on 19 April, will offer the chance to hear the ‘song’ of the trees, as well as poetry dedicated to plants, musical improvisations, and reflections inspired by biblical texts that speak of trees. The walk will conclude at the Reformed Church in Brusio with a sweet and savoury snack made from wild herbs.
