«Star Wars & Planeten» – Festspiele im Schloss

Anyone who listens to Gustav Holst's planet as a Star Wars enthusiast will be amazed. Not only are the two works set in the vastness of space in terms of content – their similarity is also astonishing musically. The famous Imperial March is found in Holst's work in furious Mars, the brute and often repeated chord dissonance from the main theme forms the end of the same movement in Holst's work, and all the mystical-magical sounds from Williams' score are closely related to Neptune. These astonishing parallels are of course no coincidence, because Williams, like all great artists, knew how to be inspired by already existing masterpieces. And Holst's seven-movement suite became a significant influence on the entire Western film score. Jupiter with its radiant brass fanfares is a blueprint for the heroic, majestic main theme of a great blockbuster, from Superman to Gladiator to – of course – Star Wars.

Alternatively, the ticket will be refunded. A performance is considered played after 45 minutes of play. Tickets for performances that have to be cancelled after 45 minutes of play cannot be exchanged or refunded.
